Real questions, straight answers.

Do I have to use voice?
No. Voice, typing, and one-tap from preset categories all do the same thing — they create a draft task. Use whichever's fastest for you in that moment.
What if I don't have a smartphone?
You can capture from any device with a browser and a microphone. Voice works on iPhone Safari, Android Chrome, and any laptop. There's also a plain text-input fallback — if your mic is iffy in the parkade, just type the line. The system doesn't care which input you used.
What if my voice transcript gets a unit number wrong?
Every captured task lands in your dashboard as a draft first. If the parser hears "2102" as "2120," you fix it with a tap before it ever touches an invoice. Confidence scores are visible — anything ambiguous gets flagged in amber so you don't miss it. Nothing auto-bills without your sign-off.
Can I edit a task after I capture it?
Yes. Tap any draft task on /portal/tasks to fix the date, hours, description, unit ref, or rate. Drafts stay editable until you compile them into an invoice.
Will the invoice look like what my clients are used to?
Yes — fully branded with your business name, your GST number, your payment terms, and your line items. The default template renders pixel-close to a hand-built Excel invoice (we modeled it on a real one). You can swap colors, logo, footer wording, and customer block during onboarding. Send it from your existing email — your condo board sees a normal PDF from you, not a SaaS-tagged email.
What if I want to use my own custom invoice template?
Custom template tweaks are a founding-customer bonus. Send Scott your current template (Excel, PDF, whatever you have) and we adjust the renderer for your account so the output matches what your customers already recognize.
Do I need QuickBooks?
No. If you have QuickBooks Online, we sync invoices, customers, GST, and your chart of accounts on connect — no manual export. If you don't have QBO, your invoices are still GST-compliant for Alberta filing (5% federal, no PST). You can stay paper + spreadsheet for year-end and still use this every month.
Can I do recurring + one-off invoices in the same place?
Yes. Most maintenance work is a mix — monthly retainer plus reactive jobs (floods, lock changes, fire panel calls). The system rolls all of it into one monthly invoice per customer, or splits per-event if that's how you bill. Recurring schedules are configurable per customer.
What if I bill multiple buildings?
v1 supports one default customer per account. Tag the unit in each task. Multi-building UI is on the roadmap and ships after the first 10 paying customers go live.
How long until I'm onboarded?
About 15 minutes for self-serve: enter your business name, GST number, default rate, payment terms — capture a couple of test tasks — done. Or book a 30-minute white-glove session with us at no extra cost on any tier; we walk through the full setup, capture five real tasks together, and connect QuickBooks live.
What does "vertical pack" mean — that's on your roadmap?
A vertical pack is a pre-loaded set of line items, tax defaults, and capture rules for a specific trade. The Maintenance pack ships with the 13 categories most condo + property maintenance contractors use (cooling tower logs, stack cleaning, fire panel response, etc.). Other trades — gutter, roofing, lawn — get their own packs as we ship them.
Are my invoices stored, and is my data exportable if I leave?
Yes on both. Every compiled invoice stays in your /portal/invoices for download or re-send any time — we never delete on you. And if you ever want to leave, full CSV + PDF export is on demand, no fee. We're not in the lock-in business; if we don't keep earning your $79 every month, you should be able to leave with everything you brought in.
